Jump For Heart!

For the second time in my expirience in this school, Jump for Heart day had come, I was nervously walking into our classroom with my mufti clothes on. As I walked in I saw colourful clothes that people were wearing. We brought a gold coin for the mufti. We raised money for the babies in need of opperations for their hearts. We raised over 200 dollars. While the kids were screaming and the seniors were laughing, the bell had already shrilled, and the children kept on playing, as though the bell never rang. I lined up quickly as possible. Miss G had said for us to bring our gold coins and place them over the letters as we were going to our classroom.

When I saw Miss Laing hand out the paper for timestable,I quikly got myself into learning mode, and started working on my sheet,I was so tired and my hands were sore once we finished . Finally we got our lunch, sat on the green benches, and started to eat our lunches. Once the bell had rung we sat in our classes to begin our Jump for heart(HORRAY)!

First of all the little Rooms1,2,3 and 4 did a fantasy type of fitness. They did " The Lion sleeps tonight"and Kiss kiss. When it was Room5's turn I was getting a bit nervous. They did a all time favourite, Borogito. The moment had arrived for the children of Room6 to do the bongo drums. Once we got over with it I was pretty much puffed by then, it was almost like I did the weetbix marathon. Once I saw the Room7 walking up to do their dance, I was so amazed about the effort that they put into their dance.

It was a pleasure to do the Jump for Heart routine, and it is great how we raised that much money for the babies, in need for sergery .

A Running Experience

"You can do it Tuis" shouted the children as the kids ran past hurriedly.

On a exciting but exhausting Friday morning, our school was lining up to get into our teams for Athletics and already teams were chanting.

I was in Tuis-Red team. There were other teams such as Geckos-Green, Kiwis- Yellow and Keas-Blue. Once our team was quiet, we rushed hurriedly to get to the tarpaulins. We were trying to get points for our team by sitting up and folding our arms. We chanted and cheered even if we didn't come First, Second or Third.

To my surprise it was my turn Miss G. had said, "Can we please have the Ten year olds come to the starting line." Nervously I walked to the start of the line, getting ready to run. BOOM! went the blocks in Mrs Poles hands. It went dangling in my ears as I was running as fast as I could. "Yes!"I made it, third place in my Heat! I saw the flag waving in Mrs Poles hand.

The moment had come for the final race. Off we went. I was exhausted when I reached the end. Once again I came Third. I reached the tarpaulins, it was exhausting.

" Yes!" time to announce the winners. Keas once again dominated the others WOW! with a score of 141 points. Once again the bell shrilled a high pitched noise, and we went to buy a lovely BBQ lunch. I deeply sniffed the delicious smell of the BBQ. I was off to play King ball, but once I reached the tennis court I was too late! The bell had shrilled like never before. " HOME TIME!" I yelled as I ran straight to the classroom

It was great to be partof this exhausting and breathtaking experience.

To my surprise, it was my turn, Miss G had said, “Can the 10 year olds come to the beginning of the tracks”. Nervously I walked up to the tracks getting ready to run, BOOM! went the blocks in Mrs Poles hand. It went dangling through my ears as I was running as fast as I could. “Yes!” I made it, 3rd place! ‘Heat’, I saw the flag waving in Mrs Poles hands. The moment had come for our final race. “Yes!” time to announce the winners. Keas once again dominated the others! WOW! they ran fast, with a score of 141 points. Once again the bell shrilled a high pitched noise, and we went to buy a lovely BBQ lunch. I deeply sniffed in the BBQ. I was off to play King ball, but then suddenly I was too late!
